I grew up in a suburb of the Twin Cities in Minnesota. At the age of 5, I was hospitalized for constipation. That same year, I had an umbilical hernia (when part of the intestines protrude through the abdominal muscles at or around the belly button). I underwent two hernia surgeries; one of which doubled as a tonsil removal surgery due to chronic strep. As the years went on, I suffered from consistent stomach pain and regularly missed school. I had allergies year-round, was diagnosed with asthma, and reacted poorly to every allergen test doctors provided. By the time I entered puberty & got my period, the pain was so bad that I would miss school monthly to sit in a tub, vomiting. I was repetitively told “This is normal,” and “You need to be on hormonal birth control.” So, naively, I complied. After three attempts to insert an IUD (all of which left me crippled, crying, vomiting, and shaking uncontrollably) and three different types of birth control, nothing worked. In fact, they all made me feel worse than I did before; some resulted in skin rashes on my face. Despite eating home-cooked meals & being involved in sports year-round, I was overweight most of my life and it only got worse during puberty. I had little-to-no* confidence.

After graduating high school, I moved to Bozeman, MT for college and my life drastically changed for the better. I learned the power of using food, sleep, sunlight, & movement, to transform my health. In one summer I was able to lose 35 lbs, eliminate my painful cycles, and pretty much cure myself of asthma & allergies. I then went on to get my Health Coaching Certification through IIN but knew there was so much more to learn. In 2017, I went back to school and received a BS in Nutrition and Dietetics. Immediately upon graduating from MSU, I enrolled in the FDN program where I received my FDNP License. While enrolled in the FDN program, I developed IBS & major gut dysfunction with no obvious cause. Thankfully, I had access to functional labs and ordered a GI map which revealed H.Pylori, bacterial overgrowth, SIBO, and parasites. Two years later I am symptom-free and don’t even recognize the girl I was as a child or as a teen. I am now teaching other women how to achieve what I have!
